A Representative Sample of Be Stars IV : Infrared Photometry and the Continuum Excess
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present infra-red (JHK) photometry of 52 isolated Be stars of spectral types O9–B9 and luminos-ity classes III–V. We describe a new method of reduction, enabling separation of interstellar reddening and circum-stellar excess. Using this technique we find that the disc emission makes a maximum contribution to the optical (B − V) colour of a few tenths of a magnitude. We find strong correlations between a range of emission lines (Hα, Brγ, Br11, and Br18) from the Be stars' discs, and the cir-cumstellar continuum excesses. We also find that stellar rotation and disc excess are correlated.

HD 42927 and HD 126341 : two pulsating B stars surrounded by circumstellar dust ?
We have performed an infrared study of pulsating B stars. The main conclusion is that none of the 163 (non-)radial pulsators shows an IR excess flux due to free-free emission, despite the fact that the sample contains several rapid rotators. Two β Cep stars and two slowly pulsating B stars do exhibit an unexpected infrared colour excess at 12 μm. The small IR excess of the B 2 IV β Cep star HD ...

We present mid IR spectro-photometric imaging of a sample of eight nearby (D ≤ 240 pc) Herbig Ae/Be stars. The spectra are dominated by photospheric emission (HR6000), featureless infrared excess emission (T Cha), broad silicate emission feature (HR5999) and the infrared emission bands (HD 97048, HD 97300, TY CrA, HD 176386). The spectrum of HD179218 shows both silicate emission and infrared em...
متن کاملPulsating red giant and supergiant stars in the Local Group dwarf galaxy Andromeda I
We have conducted an optical long-term monitoring survey of the majority of dwarf galaxies in the Local Group, with the Isaac Newton Telescope (INT), to identify the long period variable (LPV) stars. LPV stars vary on timescales of months to years, and reach the largest amplitudes of their brightness variations at optical wavelengths, due to the changing temperature. They trace stellar populati...
متن کاملExtended Near-infrared Emission from Candidate Protostars in the Taurus-auriga Molecular Cloud
We describe near-IR imaging data for a sample of 23 Class I sources in the Taurus-Auriga dark clouds. Combining our data with previous photometry, we detect brightness variations of 0.1–0.5 mag in many sources. The near-IR morphologies are consistent with millimeter continuum measurements. Most ( 60%) of the sample are true protostars; the rest may be objects in transition between Class I and C...
متن کاملThe Vega phenomenon around G dwarfs ?
In this paper, we present and discuss photometric infrared measurements taken with ISOPHOT at 60 μm for a sample of 30 G dwarfs, using C100 3X3 minimaps. This sample was selected from the set of more than 1600 G dwarfs which will be scrutinized for radial-velocity variations by the Geneva group, aiming at the detection of extra-solar planets. In our sample, 5 stars display an infrared excess at...
